This Privacy Policy describes how UpHunt collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website and services at https://uphunt.io. We have written it to reflect what our product actually does. Please read it alongside the descriptions of our features on the site.
UpHunt ("UpHunt," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI sales copilot for Upwork and LinkedIn freelancers and agencies. We provide a real-time job feed, AI job scoring with a plain-language reason for each job, instant alerts, a free Upwork Profile Optimizer, an Upwork jobs dataset, and an opt-in auto-apply service that submits proposals on your behalf.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit https://uphunt.io, use our dashboard, or use any of our tools, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. For the purposes of data protection law (including the EU and UK GDPR and Turkey's KVKK), UpHunt is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at any time at info@uphunt.io.
When you create an account we collect:
Payments and subscriptions are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. We do not collect or store your full card number or bank details on our servers. We store the billing-related identifiers Dodo returns to us (such as your customer and subscription IDs), your plan tier, status, trial end date, and remaining auto-apply credits.
Our auto-apply service is designed to be ToS-safe: instead of asking for your personal Upwork login, you add an UpHunt-managed business-developer account to your Upwork Agency Plus, and that managed account submits proposals on your behalf. To operate this we store identifiers needed to route applications correctly, such as your assigned managed account, your agency identifier, and the public staff and profile identifiers within your agency. We do not ask for or store your personal Upwork account password.
If you connect a notification channel, we store what is needed to deliver alerts to it: your Telegram chat identifier, your Slack workspace and OAuth authorization, or the webhook URL you configure. You can disconnect any channel at any time.
When you use our free Upwork Profile Optimizer, we collect the email address you enter and the public Upwork profile URL you submit, fetch the publicly available information from that profile, and store the resulting analysis. We may use the email you provide to send you your report and occasional information about UpHunt. You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time.
To power your feeds we collect and process publicly available job postings from platforms such as Upwork and LinkedIn, and we score them against the profile criteria you provide. When you generate a proposal, we process the relevant job description together with your profile and proposal settings.
Like most online services, we and our analytics and advertising partners automatically collect technical information when you use UpHunt, including your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and how you interact with the product. Section 5 lists the specific tools involved.
We use the information above to:
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you (to provide the service), your consent (for example, for non-essential cookies and marketing), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the product and to grow the business), and compliance with legal obligations.
AI features are central to UpHunt. To score jobs, generate and refine proposals, generate keywords and screening-question answers, and analyze profiles, we send the relevant inputs (such as the job description and the profile and proposal text you provide) to third-party large language model providers, currently OpenAI and Anthropic.
These providers process the data to return results to us under their business and API terms. We ask you not to put sensitive personal information into profile, proposal, or feed text, since that content is processed by these AI providers to produce your output.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and we use the following analytics and advertising technologies, which may set cookies or use similar identifiers and may collect data such as your IP address and interactions:
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of many advertising cookies through your device or the relevant provider. Disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run UpHunt, and only as needed for them to perform their function. Our main subprocessors are:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your data is handled.
To power our job feeds and to identify freelancers and agencies who may be interested in UpHunt, we collect publicly available professional information from platforms such as Upwork and LinkedIn, including public profile and company details and public job postings. We use this for product features, research and analytics, and business-to-business outreach.
If you believe we hold public professional information about you and you would like it corrected or removed, or you no longer wish to receive outreach, contact us at info@uphunt.io and we will action your request.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep certain records to meet legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. Aggregated or de-identified data and publicly sourced job and profile data may be retained for research and analytics.
UpHunt is operated from Turkey and our providers operate in various countries, including the United States and the European Union. When we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the providers' standard contractual clauses, where required by law. By using UpHunt, you understand that your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email info@uphunt.io. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
UpHunt is intended for working professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
UpHunt connects to and links to third-party services, including Upwork, LinkedIn, Telegram, Slack, and our payment and analytics providers. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. We encourage you to review the policies of any third-party service you connect or visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new revision date, and for significant changes we may notify you by email or in the product. Continued use of UpHunt after an update means you accept the revised policy.
